*Dual bachelor's degree program agreement signed with
Northern Arizona University
~~~~~~~~~~
Kyushu University and Northern Arizona University (NAU) have extended
their collaborative agreement
and launched a new dual degree program in agriculture and biology.
Both universities have been working closely since the establishment of
a university-wide collaborative agreement in 2015.
*Kyushu U and Ricoh jointly develop a thin, light, bendable
organic photovoltaic (OPV)
~~~~~~~~~~
Using materials developed in collaboration with Kyushu University,
Ricoh’s flexible solar cells efficiently generate power
indoors or in shaded areas.
In September, Ricoh will start sample shipments of these devices,
which can act as stand-alone power sources for the constant operation of
a variety of sensors.

Kyushu University and Ricoh will continue to collaborate on research and
development to achieve even higher output and durability.

**Research

------------------------------------------------------------
*One material with two functions could lead to faster memory
~~~~~~~~~~
Researchers from National Taiwan Normal University and Kyushu University have
developed a new light-emitting memory device by integrating a resistive random-
access memory with a light-emitting electrochemical cell that are both based on
perovskite. The results are promising for faster data storage and reading in future
electronic devices and open a new avenue of applications for perovskite
optoelectronics.
